Nightmare
Total Nightmare.
First while picking the item that I wanted in my house the person at the office did not know the price of the upgrades or gave me the wrong information.
I moved in to my home in October 2004. At the framing inspection I had noticed that my cement basement floor was all (wavy) and put the Item to be fixed. Once I moved in 4 months later Ashcroft had not fixed the problem, my private house inspector told me that in his 20 years experience he had never seen anything this bad. Once I moved in my Dream home I found out that there was MOULD in my basement which Ashcroft knew about but failed to tell me. Once they decided to fix it, I had to tell the workers how to do it, and they used my washing machine as a ladder and dented the lid. Ah, and the tool of choice to clean your house after they come to do some repairs is a broom from the dollar store (I think by now they can afford a shop vac). There were bulkheads added in stupid places without any attempt to blend them into the walls, my fireplace in my living room is suppose to be the focus of the house, yet I have this big bulkheads coming across on that wall, total disaster. I had to make a complaint to the BBB for Ascroft to fix some outstanding items in my house. The vents to my 2 bathrooms upstairs were not connected to the furnaise. The had put "carpet" on my wall (going up the stairs) when asked what was underneath they assured my it was just drywall, once I removed it, I noticed that the wall was uneven, and to hide the fact that the drywall did not meet, they put this lovely carpet. My closet doors do not close properly even after getting them fixed twice. Each spring I get a new crack in my foundation, the first was within my 2 yrs therefore Aschcroft fixed it, the other two I had to pay for it. Don't count on Tarion, unless your house is falling down they won't help you. Once the contractor fixed the foundation I called Ashcroft to come a replace the insualtion, tar paper and vapour barrier, to my suprise they have replced the black Tar paper with a black garbage bag!!!!(unless there is some type of tar paper made of plastic)My Landscape in the backward goes down toward the house, but Aschcroft refused to fix it. I wrote a letter to the Owner Mr. David Choo, nobody even acknowledge that they had received the letter.
Don't get me wrong, the staff at Ashcroft are very friendly and will make you believe almost anything they say. But I don't believe they have the proper training to build house except for a few that I have meet.
Overall I had to take more than 3 weeks off to accommodate Aschcroft to come fix things in my new house.
The list could go on, but I think you get the point, DO NOT BUY from this builder
