Westlake Estates - Better deals available elswhere

Westlakes is bound by a busy Carp Rd. and the noise is excessive.

Unique neighbourhood, Great Services,

This community has quite alot of varied lots treed ones with alot of heavy forest and some really nice large ones with a mix, which we really love. There are even lakeside lots which are so unique in the area. Services are amazing, High Speed internet, Cable TV, and Bell and Natural Gas which we were pleased with since I have concerns about propane or oil having not had them before. And I also work from home and was not keen on having to give up my highspeed. Although it is near Carp Road there is a large privacy burm around the neighbourhood you can't even really see the neighbourhood from Carp Road. I hear they are putting trees up along that too. The prices are really good for the area, and the schools are great around here. We are looking to make a decision in the near future, and this has made our short list.

An enjoyable build in a great area.

We have been in our house for over a year now, and look back with nothing but happy memories about the building of our home. Our last house was just a house, but this place is our home, thanks to Tristan and everyone at Shellstar. They helped us with the sometimes difficult decisions to get what we wanted in our home, and still stay on or under budget. Things that were upgrades in other builders homes were considered standards in Shellstar homes. We get compliments whenver we have people over, even from my father who can sometimes be a perfectionist, and just finished his own home. He could not believe the level of quality of all of the tradespeople and their work that is evident throughout the house. Exquisite attention to detail that still makes us proud to have in our home. Tristan's input into the floor plan and architectural changes that we made to the standard plan have given us the WOW factor that we wanted as soon as you walk through the door. The neighbourhood is a fantastic place to live, with or without children. There is a true sense of community with a number of events each year when people from the neighborhood get together. The walking trails are a total joy to experience all year round, and it is a quiet, peaceful area. A pleasure come home to.

This is our second Shellstar home. When we purchased our first home with Shellstar in the community of Granite Ridge it was our first home together. ( Community value range $240,000-$450,000) The market was booming and very intimidating for young new homeowners the thought of building from scratch was frightening to say the least. Tristan helped us through each step of the process and after closing on our first house we had nothing but positive experiences. Through the process Tristan from Shellstar became not just our builder but a neighbour and friend. Two years later we proceed to enter in to a builders relationship with Shellstar homes ( Community range $450,000 - $800,000). As this would be a custom, larger house with an increased value, the task of choosing a builder was not one taken lightly. Although we have grown to value our friendship and builder relationship with Tristan this was a decision that had to be based on "who could make our dreams come true and deliver a product that would meet and exceed all our expectations" Again Shellstar and Tristan helped us to make informed sound decisions. Being an engineer and creative designer the opportunity to work with Shellstar to build our dream house was a dream come true. The process was smooth, when bumps did arise Shellstar worked immediatley to discuss, assess and address our needs. Our house is complete and we have now been in for over a year! We submitted our 1 yr review and other than some nail pops, and some grouting chips there was nothing major to report. Shellstar was excellent in reviewing our home and ensuring our one year review went smoothly. We most recently had a friend in from California who lives in a very prestigous neighbourhood and dabbles in high end real estate (Community value 1,000 000 +) who could not stop commenting the quality of finishing and the amount of customization right down to our granite walls in the kitchen and custom lighting. He was very impressed. What a compliment!!!! The community is an amazing little nook tucked away off the busy street. It sounds hokey but it is a place where we know and socialize with many of our neighbours weekly, street parties, wine and cheese nights at alternating houses and friendly hello's are just some of the reasons we love this community and our house. Shellstar along with Metric homes advertised and promised us this picture perfect community and in all aspects they delivered.
