I can not comment on the building process of my house because we purchased it after it was already built. The house was 7 months old when we bought it, it was being rented out when we looked at it. Being first time buyers we were inexperienced in the process. Initially we were going to build the same model house beside the one we ended up buying. During the meeting with Park view and and the real estate agent we discussed building the new house or purchasing the one we are in now, being this place was cheaper and already built we decided to buy. Two days after moving in we were getting to know our neighbours and they explained about the BIG FLOOD! One month prior there was three feet of water in my basement. To Park views credit they cleaned up very well for we saw no visual evidence of a flood and no musty smell it is also to my understanding that the furnace and hot water tank were replaced. Once we found out that there was a major drainage issue going on with the city and to make a long story short that is why the house got flooded. We contacted park view and the real estate company to find out why we were not told about the flood and the on going drainage problem with the city. Park view insisted they told us and real estate company danced around it with a couple of stories the first was that our agent denied knowing about the flood when we asked him when he brought over a bottle of wine to help us settle in, and second that the insulation and vapour barrier being off the floor a couple of feet should of tipped us off there was a flood (never mind that is done for moisture reasons and it is building code to do so) and finally they said they did tell us one day in passing conversation and when I asked for them to show it to me in a disclosure list off course they could not. To make a long story short I have had to fix a number of things in this house, the hot water tank power vent was sized too small and ran nonstop so that got up sized, the furnace vent had no incline on it so the condensate just sat in there then one day in the dead of winter my furnace was tripped out on high pressure and full of water so I fixed that, I have had plumbing leaks which I have fixed oh and not to mention raising my back yard up to protect the house from the spring flood season. I should be fair and say that parkview gave me a free load of fill. There was also kitchen cabinet doors installed upside down with no handles on them. So all in all no I do not recommend park view or the real estate company they deal with. we had two springs to deal with rising water before the city finally came up with a fix.
