Disappointed customer

Extremely disappointed in the quality of workmanship and well as the integrity of the sales respresentative. We certainly don't feel like we got what we paid for. Our "golfcourse look-out view lot" has almost no view of the golfcourse due to the huge mound behind our house. Our kitchen which we spent $30,000 plus in upgrades was unfinished and extremely bad quality. Our hallway walls were a disaster - full of large bumps everywhere. Our backyard looked like they dropped a bomb in it - they came two weeks after we moved in to at least level it as I had major concerns about the safety of my young children. We spent 2 weeks of our holiday time to wait around for trades to show-up (or not) to work on our house. I would not want anyone to have to live through this experience - what a nightmare.

We rate them exreemley highly because the Monarch Homes personnel gave us so much confidence in the dead lines they gave us, and at each juncture, came through . After sales service was also completed satisfactorly, by very proffesional trades personal. More than that, up to 3 years since our purchase they still listen when we have a question and come round to check it out We recommend this builder most highly for a stress free new house building experience.

We had a gas leak the first day we moved in, had another gas and water leak later. Kitchen was not done correctly-no heat ducts in family room in basement and it was 40 below when we moved in. Many squeaks in upstairs floor which had to be torn up to be repaired. Happy with cork flooring and crown moulding on ceiling. Initially had problems for items being repaired but customer service person was replaced and repairs were quicker. Customer service repairmen are great now. Office personnel are bad in returning calls, so we made a lot of appointments for repairs ourselves. After 15 months of moving in, basically all except for a few minor items have been repaired.Oh and the Home Warranty program (TARION) is basically 90% always in favor of the builder-they just state that the work is "according to code" and nothing is to be done. This was our retirement home and the whole experience could have been much better. We did not even receive anything from Monarch thanking or acknowleding the purchase of their home. All the builders are too busy now for customer service.

We absolutely love our Monarch home. They delivered exactly what we expected and wanted and made the process enjoyable and as stress-free as possible. We would recommend Monarch to anyone who wants to buy a top-quality home from top-quality people.
